Mucha historia negativa habia alrededor de este encuentro para Santos.  El equipo tenia mucho tiempo que no podia ganar , mas de diez años para ser exactos.  Y todo comenzo para el favor de Pumas.  Los Pumas salieron como los campeones actuales que son, con muchos pases certeros y con mucho control de pelota.  Especialmente en la recuperacion porque Santos siempre perdia el balon muy facilmente.  No era de que Santos le daba la posecion del balon a Pumas, Pumas era el que comandaba todas las acciones.  Los desplieges de Baloy terminanaban en pies de los Pumas.  Pero en el segundo tiempo, Oribe Peralta pudo rematar de Chilena y concretar el 1-0 para Pumas.  Pero despues Pumas siguio intentando y en un pase de Pikolin y unos rebotes, Herrera pudo sacar un remate que vencio a Osvaldo Sanchez y el partido se empato faltando 10 minutos para que se acabara el encuentro y en ese momento el juego estaba Santos 1-1 Pumas.  Y el juego termino hasi y Santos no pudo quebrar el maleficio y termino con un valioso punto.

Santos hadn't been able to win at CU stadium for over ten years, and this game was no exception as Santos was able to walk away with a tie and a valuable point.  Pumas on the other hand was very aggresive and dominated the entire game.  They had a better flow of ball and were able to make precise passes but found themselves losing the game in the begginning of the second half.  Peralta was able to do a chilena as some rebounds left him open to make his shot.  But that advantage of a goal did not last that long as Herrera was able to tie the game for Pumas in the last ten minutes of the game.  The overall score was a tie and Santos 1-1 Pumas.
