First Half / Primer Tiempo

Muy tempranero cayo el primer gol de los Estados Unidos por un cabesazo de Bradley que vencio a Talavera.  Cabe de destacar que Mexico empezo mejor que Estados Unidos, pero ese gol de Bradley cayo a todo el Rose Bowl por tansiquiera unos segundos, luego despues Donovan hizo el segundo gol para Estados Unidos y se miraba que todo estaba perdido.  Pero no, el equipo Mexicano pudo reponerse, y Barrera estubo fino en sus definiciones y hizo el primer gol mexicano, y luego Andres Guardado hizo el segundo para poner el empate y irse al descanso con borron y cuenta.

The game started as usual, so much tension between the best two teams that Concacaf has to offer was once more facing off against each other in an epic rivalry that will continue through the ages.  The Mexican team was very straight forward since the get go, they showed cased their offensive tactics since the beginning of the game.  Surprisingly the first goal came from Bradley for USA off a corner kick, it was a header that shut the Mexican crowd down for a few seconds.  Even more surprisingly, the second goal came from USA, Landon Donovan was the scorer this time, and in less the fifteen minutes into the game, the USA national team had the Mexican team down.  Mexico was able to recover quick, Pablo Barrera scored the first goal, and couple minutes later Andres Guardado was able to  tie the game, minutes before the first half was over, making the scoreboard the same as from the start.

Second Half / Segundo Tiempo

En el segundo tiempo, Mexico otra vez al enfrente nomas, y Estados Unidos a esperar otra vez, pero esta ves Mexico si concreto las que tenia, y Pablo Barrera otra vez le dio el gol de la ventaja a Mexico.  Estados Unidos no tenia nada en la ofensiva, una de Dempsey que hubiera sido el empate pero pego en el palo, y despues salio la jugada de Giovanni Dos Santos que entre cinco jugadores de Estados Unidos y incluyendo al portero saco a todos los jugadores y mando la pelota en el angulo haciendo el 4-2 ganando el boleto a Brazil 2013 para la copa Confederaciones.

The second half was an exiting half for all spectators.  Mexico was quick once more an went straight with its offense, and it paid quick because Pablo Barrera once more scored and gave the lead to the Mexican team 3-2.  Dempsey had a shot that was the tie, yet it hit the upper post and than Giovanni Dos Santos did a marvelous individual play, in between five USA players including the goal, he was able to dribble the ball and just topped off the ball right in the angle and scored the final 4-2, giving Mexico the ticket to Brazil 2013 for the Confederations Cup.

Las semifinales de la Copa Oro del 2011 fueron muy intensas, los dos juegos fueron muy emotivos y requirieron el extra de cada equipo para ganar o dejar la derrota en el campo

The semifinals for Gold Cup 2011 were very intense, both matches were really intense and played to the fullest, the winners and losers left it all in the field.

Mexico Vs Honduras

Honduras le hizo un buen juego a Mexico, en el primer tiempo empezo muy atras, tomando muchas precauciones y cerrando todo los espacios para Mexico.  Otra vez la cuestion es que si Honduras tiene tanto potencial ofensivo, porque no lo usan desde el primer tiempo.  En el segundo tiempo Honduras si salio para enfrente y complico las saga de Mexico, no tubo aproximaciones, pero si se noto la diferencia.  Ya en tiempo extra, el cansamiento y otra ves la hechada para atras le cayo muy mal y los goles mexicanos vinieron.  Por su parte Mexico hizo su juego, controlo la pelota mas tiempo que Honduras, pero el gol no cayo, unas aproximaciones que no supieron concretar, y en el tiempo extra Aldo de Nigris le dio el gol de cabeza para abrir el marcador, ya despues el Chicharito hizo tambien su gol, los dos goles furon en tiempo extra.  Y ahora Mexico se mueve para jugar contra USA.

Honduras was a difficult team for Mexico.  Honduras played the defense game during the first half.  Many have noticed that they have an offensive potential that never gets exploited as it should.  Honduras closed all the ways that Mexico had, in the second half they decided to go front and attack, they were very dangerous yet none of them were close to the goal.  And in overtime, they decided to play defense again and thats when Mexico scored both goals.  Mexico on the other hand did what they always do best, they had control of the ball most of the time, and weren't able to break the Honduras defense.  They had at least four clear shots that were not goals because they were mistakes of their players.  Mexico was able to score during overtime by De Nigris and Lil Pea.  Now Mexico moves on to play against USA.

Despues de haberle ganado a la escuadra guatemalteca, el tri mexicano debera a enfrentarse a la Brazil de Centro America, Honduras.  Las dos escuadras llegan bien equilibradas y sera un juego muy dificil para los dos.

After beating the Guatemalan team, the Mexican team will have to face off against Honduras.  This game will be very uncomfortable to both, because both teams know each other too well, and the rivalry is always there

Estados Unidos  VS  Panama


El Morbo especial que tendra este juego sera porque la escuadra de Panama fue el equipo que vencio a Estados Unidos en la fase de grupos.  Y para Estados Unidos, esto sirve de revancha y de concretar de que el nivel de su juego no esta bajo.

There will be a lot of controversy surrounding this game because Panama defeated the US national team during the group phase.  And for the US, this game will serve as perfect match to prove to everyone that there level is not down and that they can have revenge against the team that beat them before

Los cuartos de final de la Copa Oro 2011 se dieron de comienzo este Sabado y concluyeron este Domingo con el encuentro entre Estados Unidos y Jamaica, y Panama vs El Salvador.

The quarter finals round begun this Saturday and concluded on Sunday with USA vs Jamaica and Panama Vs El Salvador.

Fist Half / Primer Tiempo

The first half of the game was very dull and had a slow pace of game.  The game started to develop more as it went along yet both teams lacked precision of passes.  Jamaica had a first clear approximation at opening the scoreboards yet both of its player missed a clear shot that would off put them ahead.  The US national team on the other hand was able to generate a lot of offensive plays yet no luck at converting those approximations to goals.  Jozy Altidore got hurt in the beginning and was replaced.

El primer tiempo estubo muy despacio para ambos equipos.  Ninguno de los dos equipos podi hacentarce con su juego.  Habia muchas faltas en el comienzo, y Jozy Altidore salio lesionado y tubo que ser remplazado.  Los Jamaiquinos tubieron una gran oportunidad, pero los dos jugadors fallaron la mas clara de gol.  Por su parte Estados Unidos tubo muchas aproximasiones ofensivas pero no pudieron convertirlas en gol

Second Half / Segundo Tiempo


The second half begun different then the first, because in the first minutes of the game, Jones took a shot from outside the box and it deflected from a Jamaican player into the goal.  Now that USA was up one, they were able to manage the game and take it into their pace of game.  Jamaica set their lines upfront, yet they lacked any type of deepness in the USA defense line.  The second goal came by Dempsey, which he finally converted after taking several shots.  Donovan came in also in the second half, yet he did not make a lot of difference.  Now the USA moves on to play Panama or El Salvador, and if is Panama, it might be a revenge for the US, since Panama beat them in the group phase.


En el segundo tiempo todo cambio porque en los primeros minutos un disparo de Jones le pego al jugador de Jamaica y causo el gol de Estados Unidos.  Con el marcador arriba, los Estados Unidos pudieron manejar el juego mas mejor, ya que Jamaica tubo que adelantar lineas.  Y el segundo gol cayo a los pies de Dempsey, que por fin pudo anotar.  La entrada de Donovan tambien es notable, porque estubo en el banco todo el primer tiempo.  Ahora Estados Unidos se va derechito a las semifinales a esperar rival entre El Salvador y Panama.  Y cabe mencionar que Panama fue el que le gano a Estados Unidos en la fase de grupos.

First Half / Primer Tiempo

La gran anticipacion del juego rondeaba si el encuentro que hiba a sostener Mexico contra Guatemala seria un dia de campo y ganar de tramite.  Todo cambio cuando antes de los diez minutos Guatemala se adelanto en el marcador con el gol del Pescadito Ruiz.  Que en el bote, se confundio Moreno y Talavera salio, y el pescadido ruiz se la bombeo y marco el primer gol.  Despues de hay Guatemala cambio la estrategia y se acorralo dejando al pescadito ruiz arriba como unico delantero.  Mexico no pudo quebrar las lineas de Guatemala y haci termino el primer tiempo con Guatemala arriba por un gol

The great anticipation to this game was if Mexico will roll over Guatemala or if it would be another day at the park.  All this anticipation came to an end when before the ten minutes into the game, pescadito Ruiz scored for Guatemala.  There was a confusion between Moreno and Talavera and both let the ball bounce and pescadito ruiz just topped the ball off and scored the goal for Guatemala.  After the score, Guatemala changed its strategy and left pescadito ruiz off top as the only striker, and Mexico wasn't able to break any of Guatemala's lines.


Second Half / Segundo Tiempo

En el segundo tiempo el chepo de la torre hizo un ajuste, saco a Castro y puso a De nigris, que rapidamente le dio resultado porque puso el gol de empate.  Con el empate Guatemala se tubo que abrir mas, y eso le dejo mucho espacios a Mexico.  Barrera condujo la pelota por una banda y se la puso a rasgo y el Chicharito Hernandez de taquito convirtio el segundo gol dandole el triunfo y el pase a semifinales contra Honduras

In the second half, Chepo de La Torre made some quick adjustments and changed Castro with De Nigris, which scored the goal for the tie.  Once the game was tied, Guatemala once more decided to open itself more and chase after the second goal, and this gave Mexico more open spaces, were in one, Pablo Barrera took advantage and went along the side field and infiltrated a pass to Chicharito Hernandez where he scored with the back of his ankle and gave the win to Mexico and the pass to semi finals against Honduras

First Half / Primer Tiempo

Este enfrentamiento no estaba en los libros de las escuadras Hondureños y Costarisenses.  Sabian que habia gran posibilidad de enfrentarse, pero no tan temprano y a eliminacion del torneo.  El primer tiempo nos enseño que Honduras toco la pelota mejor que la seleccion de Costa Rica.  Honduras completamente domino todo el primer tiempo teniendo varias posibilidades de habrir el marcador pero no pudo.  Portillo le dio una salida exclusiva a Honduras, ya que los jugadores Costarisenses no pudieron parar su salida.  El principito Nuñez entro a los quince minutos de cambio y se perdio tansiquiera una de gol, y pases claves que hubieran puesto a sus compañeros en posicion de anotar.  Por su parte Costa Rica perdio mucho el balon al tratar de salir, los pases eran muy inconsistentes y los Hondureños recuperaban la pelota mas facil

Both Costa Rica and Honduras did not have this game on their books.  Both teams knew that they would have to play against each other later down the tournament, but neither one anticipated the game will be a straight elimination.  Honduras dominated the entire first half and showed cased a better flow of controlling the ball.  They had a lot of opportunities to score, yet they weren't able to.  Portillo has been the notable player for Honduras because he has been unstoppable on the left side.  Nuñez came in with just fifteen minutes into the game, yet he has missed at least one clear shot and clear passes that could off placed his team mates in better position to score.  Costa Rica on the other hand did not have a good control of the ball and they kept losing the ball in the mid field.


Second Half / Segundo Tiempo


En el segundo tiempo los marcadores se habrieron por conducto de Honduras.  El jugador Benson anoto el gol para darle la ventaja a su equipo.  Muy extrañamene cayo el gol cuando Costa Rica habia saltado para el segundo tiempo con la intencion de ir al frente.  El gusto le duro poco tiempo a Honduras, ya que Marshall de cabeza a balon parado empato el juego.  El juego se trabo en unas cuantas veces porque los jugadores de Honduras clamaban cada ves que les hacian falta.  Y despues vino la falta dentro del area contra Costa Rica y se marco Penal.  El penal lo cobro Saborio pero el portero de Honduras tapo el disparo que hiba lento is rasgo al piso.  Y ya en los ultimos minutos Carlos Coslty y Wilson Palacios entraron de cambio.  Y en los ultimos minutos de alarge, en una carambola Benson no la putdo meter y le quedo la pelota a Garcia que tampoco la pudo empujar.

During the second half, the scoreboard was able to open.  Benson was the goal opener for the match and placed Honduras ahead by a goal.  This was very ironic because Costa Rica was playing its best early in the second half.  Costa Rica went forward and on a standing ball, Marshall with a header was able to tie the game.  As the game was tied, it developed itself with a lots of fouls, and one of them in particular was beneficial for Costa Rica because it was in the goalie area and a penalty was called.  Saborio took the shot and missed the goal, leaving the game tied.  Costly and Palacios came in late for Honduras in the last minutes, and Honduras had a shot to win, but Benson wasn't able to make the shot and on the rebound Garcia too wasn't able to score.

Extra Times / Tiempo Extras

En los tiempos extras, Costa Rica arroyo a Honduras en juego y toque, pero ni haci le alcanzo para convertir el gol del triunfo.  Y Honduras se cayo a pedazos de cansancio,  Y a los penales

Costa Rica ran Honduras over in the extra times, yet they weren't able to convert the goal that would give them the win.  Honduras on the other hand,  fell because its players were really tired, and on to the penalty kicks

Guatemala was able to take advantage of the weakest adversary of the group B and score as much goals as possible to qualify to the quarter finals of the Gold Cup,  The four goals that Guatemala made, puts the team at better standing in difference of goals compared to El Salvador.  Guatemala moves on and will probably face Mexico, depending on the outcome of tomorrows game with Canada

Guatemala supo tomar ventaja del rival mas debil del grupo B.  Los chapines metieron los mas goles posibles, y esos cuatro goles los pusieron en mejor diferencia de goles a los de El Salvador y calificaron por mejor diferencia de goles.  Ahora esperan, porque el rival podra ser Mexico, dependiendo de que pase en el juego de Canada

Jamaica 4-0 Honduras

Jamaica was three out of three just like Mexico.  Perfect standing qualified them automatically on to the quarter finals and will probably face Canada.  Honduras on the other hand, despite the loss, was able to accumulate six points that also automatically puts them in the quarter finals and will most likely face Costa Rica

Jamaica al igual que Mexico quedo con una perfecta racha de triunfos.  Esto automaticamente los califica para la siguiente ronda, y esperaran los resultados del grupo C, ya que Canada es el posible rival.  Para Honduras los seis puntos acumulados los califica tambien, y ahora se tendran que enfrentar posiblemente a Costa Rica.

Este Domingo cerro la actividad del grupo A en el torneo de la Copa Oro.  Los enfrentamientos que se llevaron acabo fueron entre El Salvador y Cuba , y Mexico y Costa Rica.

This Sunday the activity for Group A from the Gold Cup was over with El Salvador Vs Cuba and Mexico Vs Costa Rica

El Salvador le dio una goleada de despedida a la seleccion de Cuba.  Tambien al mismo caso, los elimino del torneo al vencerlos por un marcador de 6-1, y haci acorto su diferencia de goles a zero.  Y esto va a ser muy importante porque va a pelear el mejor tercer lugar y a esperar con 4 puntos y con su diferencia de goles a ver si se mete a los cuartos de final.  

Por su parte Mexico le dio una repasada a la seleccion tica, y a la seleccion de Ricardo Lavolpe.  Los Mexicanos salieron inspirados y anotaron cuatro goles en el primer tiempo.  Destaco el portero de Costa Rica que tapo tansiquiera cuatro de gol del chicharito que ironicamente no pudo anotar.  Y haci Mexico se hizo del primer lugar de grupo y enfrentara a una seleccion de los terceros lugares.  Por su parte Costa Rica tambien califico como segundo lugar por mejor diferencia de goles con la de El Salvador.

El Salvador gave a great beating to the Cuban National Team.  At the same time, this score completely eliminated the Cubans from the Gold Cup tournament.  El Salvador scored six goals and was able to set there difference of goals to zero.  This will later come into place when they will be competing to classify as the best third place. 

On the other leg, Mexico defeated Costa Rica 4-1.  The Mexican National Team played inspired in the first half as they managed to score all 4 goals in 45 minutes.  This places Mexico as the first place of the group and will face a best third qualifying team.  Costa Rica on the other hand classified on to the next round as having better difference of goals with El Salvador.

Costa Rica Vs El Salvador

Como le costo a Costa Rica sacar el empate contra El Salvador.  En los ultimos minutos del alarge le pudo empatar el juego a un gol.  El Salvador se fue arriba con un gol al minuto 45 de Rodolfo Celaya.  Era una hombria lo del Salvador, pero aguanto todo los dos tiempos, pero en un minuto Randall Brennes empato el juego.

Costa Rica took quite a surprise against El Salvador.  No one expected that Costa Rica would be down through out the entire game.  El Salvador went ahead in the game with a goal from Celaya at the 45th minute and Randall Brennes tied the game in the last minute.

Mexico Vs Cuba

Mexico jugo un juego muy seco, muy gris, muy sin ganas.  Sera a lo mejor de lo que paso con los cinco jugadores que fueron encontrados con el dopaje.  Pero haci con ese futbol, le paso por encima a Cuba con cinco pepinos. 1 De Nigris, 2 de Gio dos Santos, Y 2 de el chicharito Hernandez se encargaron de propinar la goleada a Cuba.

Mexico had a game with no color.  It was very opaque at some points, it took nearly 35 minutes for them to score against Cuba.  Yet, despite displaying that grey type of game, they were able to run through Cuba 5-0.  2 goals by Gio Dos Santos, 2 By Lil Pea Hernandez, and one from De Nigris.  It was maybe the fact that five of there team mates tested positive on the random drug test abuse that made them display that type of game

This game will be the first for both teams in there presentation for the Gold Cup tournament.  Both teams are also going to compete against Panama and Guadalupe

*This game against Canada will let everyone witness if the US-Team is going through a decline in its game, or if matching forces against the best teams of the world shows us were the US really levels off.

The last two friendly games for the US-Team left everyone with a bad perception of the team.  On the tie against Argentina the team lacked the focus that the team always has, they managed to tie the game, yet on the first and second half Argentina dominated US completely , and on the last match, Spain overwhelmingly ran through the US Team with no problems.  

*Este juego nos dejara ver si Estados Unidos sufre de un bacle en su juego, o si enfrentar a las potencias nos enseña donde esta su verdadero nivel

Cabe decir que los ultimos dos encuentros amistosos de Estados Unidos dejaron una mala impresion del conjunto.  En el empate contra Argentina, fueron dominados los dos tiempos muy facil.  España los goleo facilmente a domicilio.  Y el equipo no enseño esa clara manera de jugar de conjunto que antes nos habian enseñado.

*They have grown and made a jump in their collective game.  They have teams now playing in the MLS, and we will find out how much this has benefit it them overall.

The last friendly game the Canadian team had was against the Ecuadorian team.  They managed to tie the game 2-2, yet overall they left a good impression, specially playing against a South American team.  

*Han crecido mucho en su nivel, y especialmente teniendo jugadores por todo el  mundo y por tener equipos que ya juegan en la MLS.

El ultimo amistoso lo empataron a dos goles con la escuadra sudamericana de Ecuador.  Y cabe decir que Canada se miro muy bien.

Este Domingo Junio 5 empezara el torneo que todos los paises del area de la Concacaf estaban esperando.  Este torneo es especial, ya que le ganador de dicho torneo recivira un boleto a la copa confederaciones de Brazil 2013. 

This Sunday , June 5th, the Gold Cup tournament which has been in anticipation to the Concacaf countries will commence.  This edition is special, because who ever wins the title, they will also receive a ticket to the Confederations Cup in Brazil 2013.

Costa Rica Vs Cuba

Los dirigidos por Lavolpe tendran su primer examen al jugar con el combinado de Cuba.  Este juego es importante porque Lavolpe sera puesto bajo la lupa a entregar resultados.  Mucho no se sabe de Cuba pero tenemos que entender que el area esta creciendo y todo puede pasar.

This will be Lavolpe's first exam and will be trialed under the loop.  This will mark the games that he will need to pay full attention to because the Costa Rican people are expecting so much out of him.  Cuba sounds like an easy target, yet we dont know so much about them, yet the area has become more competitive and we will have to wait and see.

Mexico Vs El Salvador

La rivalidad entre Mexico y El Salvador es unica.  Si, podemos decir de que el amplio favorito es Mexico, pero la escuadra de El Salvador es unica y da el 100% siempre que le ponen Mexico enfrente.  Y por su parte este juego tambien tendra todos los reflectores sobre el resultado que la escuadra del Chepo de La Torre obtendra.  

The rivalry between Mexico and El Salvador is very unique.  The Salvadorian team always gives 100% against the Mexican team.  For Mexico it will be a big test, specially for Chepo De La Torre, being his first game, he has all press and fans eyes on him.  This will be the first international tournament that he will have to deliver results.
