La fase preliminar de la Concachampions empezo para los equipos Mexicanos, y esta vez fue el turno del Santos Laguna que se enfrento a un grande de Honduras al Olimpia.  El juego estaba muy inclinado hacia Santos en el primer tiempo, el Santos tocaba la pelota dominaba el juego pero no era concreto en sus posibilidades de gol hasta que en un pase de Darwin Quintero, Oribe Peralta pudo abrir el marcador, y hazi termino el primer tiempo 1-0 favor Santos.  En el comienzo del segundo tiempo, El Olimpia empezo a tocar la pelota mas, no llegaba pero se animo y empezo a jugar la pelota mas.  Cuando el Olimpia estaba jugando mejor, una mano del defensor de Olimpia mando al Chatito Juan Pablo a cobrar un penalti que casi es tapado por el portero de Olimpia y fue el 2-0.  Y un minuto despues el defensor de Olimpia se equivoco en el rechase y Darwin Quintero pudo hacer el 3-0.  Y todo parecia que estaba facil para Santos, pero el Olimpia no bajaba los brazos y seguia siendo muy peligroso, varias veces llegaba con cuatro o cinco jugadores pisando el area de Santos.  Hasta que en un tiro de esquina, los defensores Santistas se confundieron y Beckles consiguio el gol y esto estaba 3-1.  Y hasi siguio el juego con unas llegadas de Santos y de Olimpia pero el marcador no se movio.

The Concachampions League of 2011-2012, begun today for the Mexican teams.  This time Santos Laguna was hosting Olimpia from Honduras, one of the great teams that Honduras have.  The game started very balanced towards the home team Santos, yet the game was not easy enough for them to open Olimpia up as they thought it would.  It took almost 26 minutes for Santos to be able to score by a pass of Darwin Quintero to Peralta and the score was 1-0 and thats how the game ended for the first half 1-0.  On the second half Santos was very surprised because Olimpia begun on a offensive attack.  There were times were four to five Olimpian players touched Santos goal box, and right when Olimpia was playing better and looking for the tie, Santos was able to catch a break on a penalty kick.  One of Olimpias defenders touched the ball with their hands and Juan Pablo was able to score the second goal for Santos.  Than a minute later, a defender from Olimpia kicked the ball in the wrong way and Darwin Quintero was able to make a long shot and scored the 3-0.  Olimpia kept insisting and on a corner kick, Beckles headed the ball and scored for Olimpia making the game 3-1.  And thats how the game stayed for the remaining of the game, this was a good result for Olimpia because they scored away, this gives them the advantage to score 2 goals and tie the aggregate and advance to the group stage.
