El Real Madrid se enfrento al Racing de Santander en forma de visitante por la fecha 5 de La Liga y dio unas de sus mas grises y pesimas actuaciones desde que Mourinho agarro el cargo de director tecnico. Es muy dificil de entender que el Real Madrid es criticado por tener una plantilla millonaria y mas cuando esa misma plantilla no le puede ganar a un equipo chico como el Racing. Todo el primer tiempo y el segundo tiempo el Real Madrid peleo, busco el arco, pero la inibilidad de ideas y de profundidad le tomo factura en este juego ya que no se pudieron meter tan adentro para hacer un gol. Los desbordes de Cristiano Ronaldo fueron anulados, porque siempre que agarraba la pelota, dos o tres jugadores del Racing saltaban a la marca, Carvalho jugo gratis todo el partido, hacia faltas muy extravagantes que merecian la amarilla pero no la recibio hasta el minuto 91. Por su parte el Racing se llevo un punto muy valioso al poderle aguantar todo el partido sin recibir gol y tambien tubo sus posibilidades de haber ganado el partido. Pero un punto es mas vailoso que nada frente al Real Madrid. Por su parte Real Madrid deja puntos, y a esperar que hace el Barcelona.

Real Madrid visited and faced off againts Racing Santander for the 5th week of La Liga. Once again Real Madrid showed the lack of ideas to win a game. After losing against Levante this previous week, Real Madrid did not want to fall on a bad losing streak. Real Madrid did not fall into one, yet with the great combination of players that it has, it wasn't able to at least score one goal that would of given them the 3 points needed in it's personal race against Barcelona. Real Madrid tried through out the first and second half to create plays yet Mourinho's players lacked of ideas. On the other hand, Racing did good because they were able to with stand the great Real Madrid, they were able to get at least one point, and one point is better than none against the great Real Madrid
