La Champions League empezo este dia con los encuentros de repechaje para acceder a la fase de grupos.  Esta vez al no haber calificado directo como en los pasados torneos el Arsenal de Inglaterra se tenia que medir para obtener el boleto contra el equipo Italiano de Udinese.  El primer juego se llevo acabo en el estadio de Emirates del Arsenal, pero sabian que este juego estaba abierto para los dos.  El juego empezo muy bien para los locales ya que en el minuto 4' Theo Walcott pudo poner al Arsenal 1-0 sobre el Udinese.  Tambien pudo imponer condiciones sobre el Udinese porque el Arsenal controlaba mas la pelota y tenia varias aproximaciones peligrosas por Gervinho, Chamakh y Rosicky que afrontaban muy ofensiva hacia la saga del Udinese.  Por su parte el Udinese tubo una gran oportunidad por Armero que tubo una clara de gol a estar al mano a mano contra el portero, pero en la carrera que tubo, llego cansado y saco un remate que fue tapado por el portero de Arsenal.  El final del primer tiempo era el Arsenal 1-0 Udinese.  Di Natale del Udinese se perdio una clara de gol al no poder disparar al arco mas antes empezando el segundo tiempo.  Asamoah, Prizi, Di Natale y Armero complicaron la saga de Arsenal y causaron varias aprixamaciones de gol que no fueron concretas pero que tenian al Arsenal perdido.  El Colombiano Armero disparo un remate que salio desviado pero puso a todo el Estadio en alarma ya que el Arsenal no despertaba.  Y el juego termino hasi con el Arsenal 1-0 Udinese.  Pero la ventaja es corta y el Udinese en casa es muy fuerte.

The Champions League begun today with the playoff games to gain access to the group phase.  It was very unlikely for Arsenal to begin in this phases instead of qualifying direct like the past years and today it was no easy game for them as they were facing off against the Italian team Udinese.  The game started in favor to the local team Arsenal, as they were able to go up in the score by a goal of Walcott in the 4th minute of the game.  Arsenal was also able to control most of the ball for the entire first half as they were more possesive of the ball and the mood of the game. Udinese had a good aproximation from Armero who missed a one on one shot with Arsenal's golie.  At the end of the first half, it was Arsenal 1-0 Udinese.  Right in the begininning of the second half Di Natale lost a great opportunity to score by not taking the shot earlier as his shot was blocked.  Asamoah, Prizi, Di Natale and Armero were giving a lot of trouble to the Arsenal defensive line as Arsenal was in complete shock as they weren't able to respond.  Wegner had to make a adjustment and decided to bring another mid center and took out Rosicky.  Than Arsenal's goalie was able to block Di Natale shot on a standing ball.  Armero took one more last shot that had everyone at Emirates Stadium shocked as the ball missed the goal box but it was close.  The game ended Arsenal 1-0 Udinese, and Arsenal takes a small lead to Italy and Udinese has a great advantage to overcome this score at home next week.
