Los cuartos de final empesaron este dia y Mexico tenia un duelo muy dificil al enfrentarse a la seleccion de casa Colombia.  Ambas selecciones se conocian muy bien y antes del mundial habian tenido un enfrentamiento donde Colombia le saco el juego a Mexico y lo vencio 2-1.  Pero esta vez este enfrentamiento entre Mexico Vs Colombia si contaba.  Y en el primer tiempo, Colombia fue mas superior que Mexico, tubo mas la pelota y afronto mas el area de Mexico.  Pero este es futbol y Cabezas de Colombia cometio una pena maxima que Erik el Cubo Torres pudo aprovechar y poner a Mexico 1-0 sober Colombia.  La mas clara que tubo Colombia fue desperdiciada por Ospina que fallo una clara de gol en un cabezaso.  Despues entor de cambio Edson Rivera por Pullido por Mexico.  En el segundo tiempo Colombia siguio presionando y en un remate de Zapata de afuera del area pudo vencer a Rodriguez y en un error del portero mexicano el empate cayo y estabamos Mexico 1-1 Colombia.  Despues en un tiro de esquina Edson Rivera pudo anotar para Mexico de un cabezaso y Mexico otra vez estaba arriba en el marcador 2-1 sobre Colombia.  La postura de Mexico de defender le pago muy bien porque Colombia atacaba y Mexico salia muy bien de los ataques y en una descolgada, Rivera otra vez hizo gol de afuera del area y Mexico estaba consiguiendo su pase a semifinales y ganaba 3-1 sobre Colombia.  Ahora a esperar rival que sera entre Brasil o España.

The quarter finals for the World Cup U-20 begun for Mexico this day and was against the host team of the event Colombia.  This two teams had already faced each other off before the beginning of the World Cup.  In that game, Colombia beat Mexico 2-1.  Today the game mattered more since it was an advancement to the semifinals.  Colombia begun the game better than Mexico, they had more shots and had a little bit more possession of the ball.  Ospina had the most clear chance to make a goal, but he missed a clear header that would of given Colombia the lead.  On the other hand on a standing play, Cabezas committed a foul and Mexico received the opportunity by a penalty kick to go up in the game, and they did.  Erik Cubo Torres was able to convert the penalty kick into the goal and Mexico was up 1-0.  Edson Rivera came in as a substitution for Pullido for Mexico.  On the second half Zapata was able to make a goal for Colombia and tie the game.  He shot from outside the goal box and Rodriguez, Mexico's goalie missed the ball and it went through his legs and it was Mexico 1-1 Colombia.  Mexico continued to play defensevely and on a corner kick, Rivera was able to score a header and put Mexico up once more 2-1.  Than again, Rivera in the last minutes of the game was able to make a long shot and he scored the 3-1 for Mexico and Mexico won and advanced to semifinals beating the host team Mexico 3-1 Colombia.  Now Mexico will await the result from Spain and Brazil to see who they will face off against.
